The Robin 400 series is very popular among a large number of Aero-Clubs, Flying
Schools and Private Pilots in more than 20 countries. With over 3000 now produced, it
is a classic best seller which has maintained its tradition in over 20
years of production.
Unmatched in performance, it is without equal in terms of operating economy. Compare the
Robin 400 with other light aircraft of the same power, it flies faster and further
on the same amount of fuel. Maintenance is simple and therefore economic. The Robin 400 is
very robust and built to last and maintains its resale value.
The wooden airframe is constructed using modern synthetic glues. It includes composite
parts, wherever these are advantageous. The wings are covered in Dacron, a polyester
fabric with an almost unlimited life capable of withstanding loads of up
to 615 lbs/sqft. The entire aircraft is finished in a lacquered polyurethane paint
of superb, long lasting quality.
The tough oleo-pneumatic undercarriage is equally at home on an airport runway or an
uneven airstrip. The fixed undercarriage, simple fixed pitch propeller and uncomplicated
flight control systems are efficient and easy to maintain.
The Robin 400 is fitted with a range of long life Lycoming four cylinder engines with
proven reliability, in power range from 120 h.p. to 200 h.p.
The new Robin CDi EcoFlyer is fitted with the Thielert diesel engine, originally 1.7L and
now the 2.0L engine, giving very low fuel costs, and lower noise levels inside and outside.
