ABOUT US
Since 1994 we have been the UK distributors for the famous ROBIN range of light aircraft, manufactured at Dijon, in France. These aircraft, built of wood and grp composite, are amazing durable – there are plenty in service over 40 years old, and other examples with over 20,000 flying hours are recorded. They are known as the DR 400 series and are instantly recognisable from their cranked “Jodel ” wing. In aviation this is surely one of the best examples of “ if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it “, being still one of the most efficient wings in the business.
We have been selling new ROBIN aircraft for 16 years, and for the same period we have specialised in used Robin aircraft of all types, DR 400 s of course, but also the metal aircraft which Robin used to make, both 2 and 4 seat. In particular we specialise in the 2 seat metal HR 200 and R 2160 which were made at Dijon and are now made in new Zealand.
We base ourselves at Goodwood Chichester, but more recently, in partnership with Steve & jennie Bailey, who specialise in the Ecoflyer diesel Robin, there is a Mistral office at Elstree aerodrome
ABOUT ROBIN AIRCRAFT
The factory at Dijon is fully back in production, making the whole DR 400 range. The company is under the direction of M. Daniel Triques. who has been production manager for over 20 years, and knows a thing or two about these remarkable aircraft. The aircraft come with Lycoming engines from 120 hp to 200 hp, or with Centurion diesel engines of 135 hp & 155 hp. These latter, known as the ECOFLYER, are steadily gaining a reputation for reliability , and of course using JET A 1 fuel, at between 18 & 24 l / hr are very economic to run.
There are so many appealing features of these DR 400 aircraft, whichever engine they have :
- they have outstanding visibility from the cockpit, which is itself roomy – you don’t have to lie on your back , comfortable, and easy to access ( from either side ! )
- they are perfectly at home operating off grass or tarmac, and that Jodel wing lifts them out of short strips which other aircraft simply wouldn’t even think of
- they are easy to fly, and safe – witness how many are used as trainers in France- but with the traditional “ stick “ are a delight for the pilot
And now
Not only are there diesel Robins, but glass cockpits based on the Garmin 500 and Aspen are certified on all Dr 400 types, both new and as retro-fit.
ROBIN SPARE PARTS
Robin spares are handled by the sister company CEAPR, based in the same Dijon factory, fully supporting Robins going back 40 years. Exception is spares for the 2 seat metal HR 200 and R 2100 series which are now supported from NZ
WHETHER ITS NEW ROBIN AIRCRAFT OR USED ROBIN AIRCRAFT OR PROBLEMS WITH SPARES OR ANYTHING ELSE TO DO WITH ROBIN AIRCRAFT, MISTRAL IS HERE TO HELP.
