Abbots Bromley airfield at Yeatsall Farm in Staffordshire
Visited in August and October 2023

Abbots Bromley airfield in Staffordshire is one of the gems of general aviation in England. There is smooth grass, quiet lanes and several hostelries within easy walking distance: The High Ash Farm Shop, the Bagot Arms (www.bagotarms.com), the Crown and the tea room next door([email protected]) all being less than a mile away. The Coach and Horses (www.thecoachandhorsesabbotsbromley.com) is a quarter of a mile on from The Crown.

All the pubs are closed on Mondays but the tea rooms should be open all week so you should be able to find sustenance.

The runway may not be easy to spot when the surrounding crop is growing but watch the video for a tip to locate it easily!

There is no landing fee at the airfield so you are invited to make a donation to the Air Ambulance (the box is in the hut marked with a 'C').
